At the beginning of this year, we made a firm commitment to ensure complete feature parity across Cloud, Server & Data Centre versions of Behave Pro. Today we’re pleased to announce that we have taken a big step towards this goal by bringing our new Living Documentation over from Cloud, and by simultaneously introducing our new Cucumber Linter & Parser across all hosting options.

Living Documentation

Our most requested feature for Behave Pro is “Publishing test reports” and today we are pleased to release a feature that is a few steps beyond that, Living Documentation.

One powerful benefit of writing natural language, well written and easy to read scenarios, is that as a collective they describe how the system or application behaves which becomes useful documentation. In Behave Pro, this documentation becomes ‘Living’ as it is generated from the Test Automation results from every CI build or deployment. The Test Automation with Cucumber or SpecFlow confirms if the system or application conforms to what is written down in the scenarios.

To introduce Living Documentation we have replaced the ‘Specifications’ page, which will be deprecated as of Q3 ‘21, with a new ‘Requirements' page which can be found in your project sidebar. From the requirements page you will be able to view all your scenario’s grouped by feature, including the test results status displayed as either:

Red’ - All steps failed

Amber - At least one step has failed

Green - All steps passed

Grey - Not yet tested
